Best rank tracker in 2026: 7 tools compared on price
What makes a good rank tracker in 2026: AccuRanker, SE Ranking, Semrush, Ahrefs, Wincher, SERPWatcher and SEO Sauna compared, and how to estimate cost.
Every rank tracker promises accurate positions. Most of them deliver, more or less, because many of them buy SERP data from the same few providers. The real differences are elsewhere: how often you get fresh numbers, which devices and locations you can track, how deep into the results they look and what you pay per keyword once your list grows.
That last point is where people get caught. A tracker that looks cheap for 100 keywords can cost hundreds a month at 2,000, and an all-in-one suite can lock rank tracking behind a plan you mostly do not need.
This guide covers what to look for in a rank tracker in 2026, compares seven tools with prices checked on their own pricing pages in October 2026, and shows how to estimate your own cost before you commit.
What makes a good rank tracker in 2026
Accuracy you can check
A tracker is accurate when its position matches what a searcher in that location, on that device, sees in a clean session. Spot-check a few keywords against the live results in a private window with the right location. If the tracker shows the ranking URL too, you can catch Google swapping one of your pages for another, a common cause of sudden "drops".
Devices and locations
Mobile and desktop rankings differ, sometimes by several positions. Local businesses also need city-level tracking, because "plumber" in Tampere and "plumber" in Helsinki are different result pages. Check whether both devices count as two keywords.
SERP depth
Most trackers check the top 100. That matters less than you think for keywords you already rank for, and a lot for new pages climbing from position 70. Depth also drives cost: checking ten pages of results costs the data provider more than checking one.
Update schedule
Daily updates are useful for news sites, ecommerce during campaigns and anyone running experiments. For most small sites, weekly is enough: rankings move slowly, and a weekly line is easier to read than daily noise.
SERP features and AI Overviews
A position-one ranking under an AI Overview, a map pack and four ads gets far fewer clicks than position one on a plain results page. A good tracker records which SERP features appeared for each keyword, including Google's AI Overviews. If you need to know whether your brand is mentioned inside AI answers, that is a separate kind of tracking, covered in our AI Overview tracker guide.
Price per keyword
Divide the monthly price by the number of keywords the plan tracks at the schedule you actually need. That number beats any feature table.
The 7 rank trackers compared
Prices below are the monthly prices shown on each vendor's pricing page to European visitors in October 2026, excluding VAT, with monthly billing unless noted. Most vendors give a discount for annual billing. Prices change often, so check the linked pages before you buy.
| Tool | Entry price | Keywords at entry | Updates | Best for |

| AccuRanker | from about €224/month | 2,000 | Daily | Large keyword sets, speed, data integrations |
| SE Ranking | from about €109/month (Core) | 2,000 | Daily | All-in-one value, agencies on a budget |
| Semrush Position Tracking | from about €134/month (SEO plan) | 500 | Daily | Teams already using Semrush for everything else |
| Ahrefs Rank Tracker | from about €119/month (Lite) | 750 | Weekly by default | Teams already using Ahrefs for links and research |
| Wincher | Prices not shown publicly at the time of writing | From 500 | Daily | Simple, dedicated rank tracking |
| Mangools SERPWatcher | from about €61/month (Basic), €37.70/month billed annually | 200 | Weekly (daily on Agency) | Small sites that want a simple bundle |
| SEO Sauna | €59/month, rank tracking paid from credits | You choose | Daily, weekly or monthly | Configurable cost, AI assistant workflows |
AccuRanker
AccuRanker is a dedicated rank tracker known for fast, daily updates and handling very large keyword lists. The Professional plan starts at about €224/month for 2,000 keywords and includes keyword research, search intent, tagging, Search Console and Analytics data, reporting and export. Expert, from about €764/month, adds dynamic tagging, AI CTR estimates, a Data Studio connector and an unlimited read API.
What it does better: speed, scale and data plumbing for teams who pipe rankings into their own dashboards. The trade-off is the entry price, which is high if you track a few hundred keywords.
SE Ranking
SE Ranking is an all-in-one SEO platform with a strong rank tracker. The Core plan is about €109/month (€87.20/month billed annually) with 10 projects, 2,000 keywords and daily checks. Growth is about €235/month with 30 projects and 5,000 keywords. White-label reporting comes in an Agency Pack add-on, and AI search tracking is another add-on.
What it does better: a lot of tracked keywords for the money, plus audits and research in the same tool. Add-ons can raise the real price, so price the plan with the add-ons you need.
Semrush Position Tracking
Semrush's Position Tracking sits inside its SEO plans. The SEO plan is about €134/month (€112.52 billed annually) and tracks 500 keywords daily across 5 websites. Pro+ is about €286/month with 1,500 keywords and adds multi-location and device tracking. White-labelled reports come with the Pro Report add-on.
What it does better: Semrush has one of the biggest keyword and competitor databases on the market, so rank tracking sits next to everything else you need. If you only want rank tracking, you pay for a lot you will not use. More in our Semrush alternatives post.
Ahrefs Rank Tracker
Ahrefs includes Rank Tracker in its paid plans: Lite is about €119/month with 750 tracked keywords, Standard about €229/month with 2,000 and Advanced about €419/month with 5,000. According to Ahrefs' help centre, tracked keywords update weekly by default, with daily updates available through an add-on.
What it does better: Ahrefs' backlink index and site explorer are excellent, and Rank Tracker shows your rankings next to that data. Weekly default updates are fine for most sites but not for daily monitoring.
Wincher
Wincher is a dedicated rank tracker with daily updates, unlimited locations, competitor tracking, Google Maps tracking and PDF reports. Its plans start from 500 keywords and 10 websites for one user, with higher tiers adding unlimited websites, multiple users, API access and white-labelled reports. Wincher's pricing page did not display prices when we checked in October 2026, so see the page or sign-up flow for current numbers.
Mangools SERPWatcher
SERPWatcher is the rank tracker in the Mangools bundle, next to KWFinder, SERPChecker and backlink tools. Mangools Basic is €37.70/month billed annually (about €61/month monthly) with 200 tracked keywords and weekly updates. Premium tracks 700 keywords weekly, and Agency (€97.70/month billed annually) tracks 1,500 with daily updates. Plans now include Mangools' AI search monitoring and API and MCP access.
What it does better: friendly interface and a low entry price for small sites. Tracked keyword limits are modest compared with dedicated tools.
SEO Sauna
SEO Sauna takes a different approach. The plan is €59/month excluding VAT and includes 17,000 usage credits (€17) each month. Rank tracking, like other data-heavy features, is paid from those credits, so there is no fixed keyword limit: you decide how much tracking you want, and the app shows what it will cost before it runs.
What it does better: you control the cost per keyword, there is no cap on projects, and rankings sit next to keyword research, backlinks, site audits, Search Console and AI visibility. You can also ask Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor to read your tracked rankings over MCP. What it lacks: ranking history from before you start tracking, white-label reports and the reporting dashboards of AccuRanker or SE Ranking.

How configurable tracking changes the cost
Most rank trackers sell keyword buckets: 500, 2,000, 5,000. You pay for the bucket whether you use it or not, and each bucket comes with a fixed schedule.
In SEO Sauna you set up a tracker per domain and market, and choose four things:
- Keywords: which ones to track. Keep the list to terms you would act on.
- Devices: desktop, mobile or both.
- SERP depth: from one page (top 10) up to ten pages (top 100), in steps of ten results.
- Schedule: daily, weekly or monthly, or manual checks you run on demand.
You can track nationally or at city level, add separate trackers for other markets, and see the ranking URL and SERP features (including AI Overviews) for each keyword on each device. Results can be exported.

Before a tracker runs, SEO Sauna shows a live cost estimate based on those choices. As a rough guide, 100 keywords on one device, five pages deep, checked weekly costs about €1–2 a month in credits. The cost scales roughly in proportion to what you add: both devices roughly doubles it, daily checks multiply it by about seven, and going from five to ten pages deep raises it further. The in-app estimate always shows the current number before you commit.
How to estimate your rank tracking cost
Use this quick method for any tool:
- Count the keywords that matter. Start with the terms that drive revenue or leads, then the pages you are actively improving. For most small businesses that is 50 to 300 keywords, not 2,000.
- Decide on devices. If Search Console shows most clicks come from mobile, track mobile.
- Pick the schedule. Weekly unless you have a reason for daily.
- Pick the depth. Five pages is plenty for keywords you already rank for. Go deeper for new content you want to watch climb.
- Compare cost per keyword.
A worked example: 300 keywords, mobile only, weekly.
- In a bucket-based tool you need the plan that covers at least 300 keywords at your schedule. Depending on the tool that is the entry plan or the next one up, so roughly €60–€230/month from the table above.
- In SEO Sauna, using the rough guide, 300 keywords weekly on one device at five pages deep is about €3–6/month in credits, inside the 17,000 credits included in the €59 plan, with the rest of the credits left for keyword research, audits and AI visibility.
The honest caveat: at very large volumes with daily checks on both devices, a credit model is not automatically cheaper, and a dedicated tool like AccuRanker or SE Ranking may fit better. Run the estimate for your real setup.
Which rank tracker should you choose?
- You track thousands of keywords daily and need integrations: AccuRanker.
- You want lots of tracked keywords plus an all-in-one toolkit: SE Ranking.
- You already pay for Semrush or Ahrefs: use their tracker before buying another one.
- You want a simple, dedicated tracker: Wincher.
- You run a small site and want a cheap bundle: Mangools.
- You want to set your own cost per keyword, track many projects and use an AI assistant with real data: SEO Sauna. You can see how the pieces fit together on the SEO Sauna overview.
Whatever you choose, also connect Google Search Console. It shows your average position for every query for free, and a tracker adds precise positions for the keywords you care about most.
FAQ
What is the best rank tracker for a small business?
One that tracks the 50 to 300 keywords that matter on the device your customers use, weekly, without a big monthly bill. Mangools and SEO Sauna both fit small budgets. Combine either with Search Console, which is free.
How often should I check keyword rankings?
Weekly is enough for most sites, because rankings rarely change meaningfully day to day. Choose daily during migrations, launches, campaigns or experiments where you need to react quickly.
Are rank trackers accurate?
The good ones are accurate for a clean, non-personalised search in the chosen location and device. Your own browser results can differ because of personalisation and location, so a tracker and a manual search will not always match.
Do rank trackers show AI Overviews?
Many now record which SERP features appeared, including AI Overviews. SEO Sauna flags AI Overviews per keyword in rank tracking. Whether your brand is mentioned inside those AI answers is a separate measurement handled by AI visibility tracking.
How much does rank tracking cost in SEO Sauna?
It is paid from the credits included in the €59/month plan. As a rough guide, 100 keywords on one device, five pages deep, weekly costs about €1–2 a month in credits. The app shows a live estimate before every tracker runs.
Can I use an AI assistant to read my rankings?
Yes, with SEO Sauna. Connect Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or another MCP client to https://app.seosauna.com/mcp and ask for your latest positions, movers or ranking URLs. Setup steps are in the MCP guide.
